Living life with a mental illness

40 years of dealing with bipolar/ depression, ptsd, anxiety and self medicating sometimes is hell. In all my life I have never gone without seeing a psychiatrist, it hasn't been the best of journeys, but I know somewhere in there is a silver lining, through the grace of God and his undying love for me, what he and I have is eternal, he loves and accepts me despite my faults and mental illness, because I am his child and his love is unconditional, such as it is for you too.

Another thing about having a mental illness:

Don't beat yourself up so bad, just trust and believe there are people just like us who are suffering too, we just need to continue to reach out. Sometimes I find myself feeling better when I can try to help another suffering person dealing with this horrible disease, sometimes we have to get out of our comfort zone, and look at another persons perspective, this will in turn take the focus off of yourself and your worries, plus you'll feel much better knowing you were able to give someone else who is struggling support too.  Mary Greer DiGirolamo December 21, 2018
